Posted: 15 Jun 2010 Well this is certainly the closest in situ grass snake shot I ve ever taken. After a great morning of adders ,I dropped in at a really small grass snake site and found my first one there that wasnt under a refuge. As you can see there were mitigating circumstances as to why I was able to get so close, but a rare treat non the less. Posted: 17 Jun 2010 Cheers Keith, I could have been Steve Irwin and it would have been non the wiser ,I think it has probably shed by now ,still it inspires me to look a bit harder at this location now, rather than just the lazy tin turning. Dave Williams davewilliamsphotography.co.uk |

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 i know nothing about the subject of photography but i really respect honest, in situ shots such as this. speaking as a consumer,i think they hold more glory for being harder to get. thanks for the interesting pic dave f. Diversity. |

Posted: 19 Jun 2010 Hi guys, the best, or should I say most quirky in-situ shot I've taken I think is this - even though they were mating, the male was still interested in what I was doing!! Strange world indeed. RobV |

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 Thanks lads, but I think I've lost the knack of creeping up on them, I haven't managed one in situ this spring, they've been just too flighty....Either that or I've put on a bit of weight!! RobV |
